My 1986 F-150 Explorer 351 Windsor efi keeps stalling after driving
10-20 minutes. I have replaced the fuel filters, installed a new battery, checked the charging system, what else could it be?
It will restart after waiting 15-20 minutes. Could it be water in the tanks thanks for any help
You need to determine if it's a fuel problem or ignition problem. When it stalls and won't start, pull a plug wire and stick a screwdriver up in the end of the wire. Hold the screwdriver shank near the metal of the engine and see if a spark jumps. If it doesn't, I would suspect the ignition module on the distributor or the pickup inside the dist.
I bought a $50 Canadian Code scanner for Ford vehicles made by
EQUUS, Maybe locate one and run a scan as there could be sensor failures.
It's saved me a fortune in Shop Fees.
