Overdrives Available
I have an 86 F250 Supercab, 460, C6 nicknamed "Thirsty" (likes gas), wondering if an overdrive tranny will bolt in or any other type of overdrive available to slow down engine rpm at cruising speeds. Don't really want to change rear end ratio (think it's 4.56) cuz I may need the grunt to haul camper and boat.
Any suggestions?

I think the C6 would be the best bet for ya. I wanted to bolt a 351w to a 4 speed auto with overdrive from my 86 F150 and they said it can be done but it isn't a great idea. If I were you I would look for engine upgrades such as a K&N Airfilter, New Ignition (MSD not Jacobs), and maybe a new exhaust to help boost your miles per gallon rather then spending all the dough on a new transmission.
