Finally after YOUR support and HELP! FORD bought back my 04 F350!! I was on this site heavily last fall venting many of my problems and again last week....well come to find out when I brought it in last Tues. they had found that the EGR AGAIN was Carboned up and had to be replaced for the 3rd time (after they realized that that had been the issue for so long) and that 2 Bus Barsin the back of the motor were leaking and the Camshaft sensor was leaking. GOOD RIDDIN'S I say!!! Between the Serv Mgr and our Sales Rep they got the buy back done! All thats left is the details.....
Anyone know approx the price increase from the '04's to the '05's?
Thanks again to EVERYONE who helped me stay CALM, COOL, and SANE!!!!
Not sure but if you go to KBB.COM and price out your new one vs your old one it will give you an idea. I have heard a 2% raise but they have changed a lot from 04 to 05

Well whatdaya know...I am shocked...stunned...and amazed!!
Congrats! and your welcome.
KW, if you hate the EGR now...I have an intake manifold at work you need to take a look at
Truck was brought in for running rough (felt like a near dead miss), engine pulled a cylinder 8 contribution/balance code. After checking injectors and running a compression test, we decided to pull the cab to get the heads off (assuming a valvetrain issue at the time). After removing the intake manifold, we noticed severe buildup of carbon on the rear-most intake port of the manifold for the 8th cylinder- the stuff was so caked up, it had managed to build itself a *wall* from the back of the intake manifold forward, clogging one intake port totally, and part of the second. Engine had 84,000 miles on it (mid-year 03 build). Cleaned manifold and reassembled, truck ran like new....
Ironic thing was, the silly little valve (which was the original one, most fail, this one didn't) was just churning away going back and forth, working like brand new...wouldn't you know
Hopefully, we will be able to remove the entire EGR system from the truck (both physically and in tuning) and the problem will be fixed for good, but still working on it.
Absolutely pathedic that we and Ford have to live with this thing...technically...I don't know what Ford is going to be able to about it either...has already cost them more than $$$$ could ever buy. Not to mention what it has cost them in real $$$ as well as the the consumer...the dealers...and even the techs due to false diagnostics etc...
Actually PSD it is your fault that I ever became such an advocate of the lost EGR valve plug syndrome that hopefully infects more and more of us each day.
At some point in time I hope that most of the Ford Techs will turn a blind eye to the "unplugged syndrome" and go about the business of fixing our vehicles when they break with just a slight change step from the company line.
Thanks PSD...for a job well done...and very early on.
I told the Commercial Service manager at my dealer that I was going to unplug mine and asked if they would look the other way. She and the 3 techs that are certified on the 6.0 told me flat out "If we could unhook them all we would, go ahead, we won't see a thing,,,,,unless we have to hook it back up to t/s something of course..." So, this weekend if the weather is nice, I'll be unhooking it, thanks to all of the horror stories I've heard here about the EGR and the 2 that have been replaced on mine.

Mine was acting up today, too, actually.
I forgot to turn the stupid thing off when I finished my last program, and my EBP sensor has been shot for quite some time now. It was idling in the driveway, with the valve popping on and off...it would get real quiet, blow a nice cloud of smoke, then the turbo wouuld kick back on, and the cycle would repeat...over, and over, and over. I just let it sit there until I finally got aggrevated and unplugged it. Oh, BTW, it is ok to unplug it with the engine running. When the solenoid coil loses power, it will pop back closed again....
Go to the tech folder sticky @ the beginning of the 6.0 forum...look up EGR...
First however...you might want to get a favorite beverage...good lighting...away from distractions and be prepared to read for awhile...then if you have any questions just holler back at us.
