Anyone have this experience?
We were on our way back into San Diego County over the weekend from the Imperial Valley Sand Dunes (Gordons Well) I was towing my 26ft toybox trailer with all the toys minus the fresh, grey, black water, I emptied them in El Centro. I'm guessing the trailer weight now around 8-9k lbs. I began to climb the mountain pass, those of you who are from my area now what I'm talking about and how steep it is. The truck was doing great...doing about 40-45 mph when suddenly the RPM's shot up to 4k and a high pitch warning type squeal came from the dash. I got off the gas and for some reason decided to manually down shift (auto tranny). When I did the Rpm's shot back up and it squealed again. I immedately got off the gas and it went away. I inched up the mountain pass...doing about 30-35 mph. Although the rest of the way home does not have the same steep hills the truck ran great with plenty of power. Thanks in advance.
