Greetings all...
This truck is what Ford gave me in exchange for an '04 SVT Cobra that was a lemon. I got the Cobra new in September '04 and over the next 3-4 months it was in the shop for over 57 days. It had various problems- ABS and TCS never worked (went out the day I got it), brake fluid leak, transmission had to be torn apart to fix a shifting problem, rear end made noises, alignment issues, engine started knocking around 1,000 miles (Ford replaced the right cylinder head more than once to try and fix this; never did fix it though), etc. I loved the car- awesome power and the color combo was 1 of 120, so it got noticed alot by other Mustang owners. I just decided enough was enough and told Ford they needed to make it right.
The lemon process took about a month and a half from beginning to end, and I picked out this truck as a replacement since the next Cobra is not due for another year or two. I think I made a good decision though; this truck is very nice and I am alot happier with it than I thought I would be!
BTW- It didn't cost me a penny to do the exchange. No mileage fees, usage fees, or anything. And everything that I had paid towards the Cobra got rolled over onto the truck. Even though it was a pain in the a$$, driving a new supercharged Cobra for a few months for free isn't such a bad deal after all!
Hope the truck is a good one
My name is Fred and I am a soldier in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. My wife and I are originally from Texas and the Army is what brought us here to North Carolina. Very soon (within the next couple of months or so) I am going back overseas for my 3rd combat tour with my unit. I have spent one tour in Afghanistan, one in Iraq, and this next one will be back in Afghanistan again. Not too long after I return to the USA I will be taking my Honorable Discharge and returning back to Texas. I plan on finishing my degree, going on to graduate school, and who knows where we will settle down after that! My wife is planning on attending school again when we get back, she just hasn't made her mind up what she wants to pursue yet!
Next month my wife and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary of marriage
I think that has to be a record of some kind here at Ft. Bragg
