map sensor? or TPS that the question

I have Just spent about 2 hours looking back through the archives and I hear alot about
the map sensor and the TPS could this be playing a big part in the lack of power and a rough idel. Also hear alot about cleaning the IAC and scrubing the TB with carb cleaner. Any help would be great before I START tear down the engine to have the heads re-done.
Thank you,

If the TPS gets way out of wack, it will set a code in the computer. Otherwise it can cause weird hesistation problems when you step on the gas. I wouldn't think it would cause a rough idle. The IAC could cause an erratic idle. I would think about cleaning them. I don't remember, but maybe you posted what you have done to try to fix it up to now, like dist cap and rotor, plugs, wires, and such. Dirty injectors could cause a rough idle too. I also would do a compression test on the engine before tearing the heads off.

Ihave replaced,Cap rotor, plugs, wires, compresure check was done
and all with the 10%would you call and eritic idel one second running smooth and then run like a skip? Also sounds like there is a poping sound in the cross over pipe.kinda like a skip.and it all seems to get worse when in put it into gear.

This is going to be a tough one to call. I would recommend getting the injectors cleaned, but what I don't like is you usually have to pay somebody to do it. I don't know if they make kits for do-it-yourselfers or not. They take the fuel line off the fuel rail and disconnect the fuel pump electric. Then they put this can or machine on the fuel rail that has this potent cleaner stuff in it. Then they start the engine and let it run on this cleaner. It knocks off all the deposits off the injectors. I had it done once and it really helped to smooth the engine out.
