Trip odometer in 05 SD

Does this one record your whole trip or start over again at 1000 KL like my 04 does. They have changed the whole set up for the odometer in 05. I can now show my permanent mileage reading in miles or kilometers so I hope the trip function has been improved also. Thanks, Wrench.
