Hi, new to the board. Just picked up an '03 Expy with the help of all the good info on this board. Any recommendations on a good Ford mechanic at a dealership or shop that does warranty work in the Maryland, DC, Northern VA area?
I just drove a 99 Expedition XLT back from Utah last summer. So far I've been taking it to Koons Ford in Falls Church (just outside Arlington). I don't feel like I'm being ripped off, but I just don't feel they are really on top of things. They seem to miss some obvious problems and I have to keep taking it back.
I too would be interested in a top notch technician(s) and operation I can have more faith in in the DC/Northern Virginia area. It doesn't have to be a Ford dealer.

I use Cowles Ford, or Prince William Parkway Ford, as it is now called in Woodbridge, VA,. The only work I have had done on my 2002 was a water leak coming down through the A frame. They were fast and cooperative.
I also have used Cowles with good luck. I bought my 03 EB Expy at Sheehy in Springfield. They are also pretty good but seem to take a bit longer to get things done then Cowles does.
Woodbridge, ouch. I guess if you live down there, then it's convenient, but for me, Koons Falls Church, Jerry's Ford in Annandale or Ted Britt in Fairfax are much more convenient. I actually live close to Sheehy in Gaithersburg MD but I work in Falls Church. I took my previous truck to Sheehy in the past and I've been happy with the work. Just took my wife's Escape to Koons this week for a recall and it was real easy. I'll probably take my Expy there if I need to, since it's the closest to my office (much easier to go during the week, with shuttle service to/from work).
I bought the extended warranty through the dealer and just found out that any warranty work done by the dealer comes with an up to 6 day rental car. Sheehy is right across the street from Enterprise so that works out good.
Sure wish I had of realized this prior to my last visit there. I have had the truck for almost 2 years and have had warranty work done at least 10 times for various things. The biggest pain in the butt was trying to coordinate rides and such to and from the dealer.
