I didn't get an owner's manual with my van and thus have no idea what fuses are what. My check engine light is on, but the code reader shows nothing at all - like the van isn't there at all. So I decided to do the obvious and check all the fluids, fuses, etc. and I found a blown 20amp fuse in slot #23, but I have no idea what that is for. Check engine light is still on with fuse removed, also still on with fuse replaced... Anyway, could someone scan the fuse layout and post it?
Any help with the dead diagnostic plug would be good too.
Did you get it figured out yet? My van is a 2003 E350, so I'm betting that the fuse box is probably/possibly different, but I'll tell you that my #23 is "Cigar Lighter, Data Link Connector (DLC)." From the sound of it, that might be the same function in your van, hence the "dead diagnostic plug," but your mileage may vary and no warranty is expressed or implied.
Thanks, I got it fingered out. The code reader finally worked (which makes sense based on what you said the fuse is for. I think that's funny that the cigar lighter and the data link connector are on the same fuse. I guess that means you can't smoke if you can't read codes. I bought a owner's manual and a service manual CD on Ebay so now I've got the goods. But you all helped me out before I had access to the fuse layout and I do appreciate it. Thanks!
