Mig welder again

Looking at a mig welder and wanted to know what you think about this one.
It is on ebay 3874341083 also this one 3875131703

The first one welds 1/8 and the second 1/4. Are they saying you can't weld 1/4 with the first welder? Can you just weld it twice to get to the 1/4?

Sorry don't know much about migs.

Lincolns are good machines. This is a 110v model, and is limited by the current (amps) it can put out, and by the duty cycle. Weld a little, wait a lot for things to cool down. It all comes down to the intended use. This would be fine for sheet metal work or a bit of light fabrication. If you have the wiring, you would be much better served by a good 220v unit with 175 to 180 amps. It can do the light stuff just as well, with a better duty cycle, and can weld the heavier job, too.

I would stay clear of the first one. Those don't weld anything, they're more of an Arts and Crafts type machine. I've never used the SP-100, but I do have a 135. According to the ebay auction they only differ in amperage. (100 vs. 135 Amps) I love my machine, does body work (thin metal) up to thicker stuff, (3/8). I can also weld 1/2 inch with a few passes. That SP 100 is not a terrible price, especially considering the free shipping. I would make sure you get some kind of warranty though, considering it is a refurbished machine.

The second on has a 3 year warranty. Also I work in the city they are in and they have a store in the city I live in so I will go there tomorrow to see if I can get a better price.
