What year is the motor? Do you have the casting numbers off of the block? Are you doing a complete overhaul?

Can't give you any info on the motor unless we know what the engine is. The casting number for the block is located on the passenger side of the motor towards the rear usually under the starter, so you will have to remove the starter to see it. Just because it was in a 1980 ranger does not mean it was the motor that came in that vehicle from the factory.
