I want to replace the tailgate and bumper on my 2001 Ranger Edge. Considering that the gate is painted and the bumper has some painted areas whats the best way to go about it? Should I just spend the money and have the tailgate repaired and repainted or buy one out of a parts yard and take the chance that the color (yellow) matches right? The only damage on it is a dent on the very top that won't pull out.
As for the bumper, the paint is peeling on it. Anyone know if the black or gray ones you see on Ranger XL's will fit it? I'd rather go that route than buying a painted one.
This site has been great to me in the past, so any info you guys can come up with would be great. Keep up the good work here, you guys make me look like a master mechanic.
I think any 98-current ranger bumpers will fit, so long as they aren't stepside trucks. That leaves options open to chrome, painted or grey. You can find them at junkyards, ebay, or someone elses truck (joking). You might also just have the bumper repainted.
