I have a 2003 F250 6.0L Turbodiesel. Since it passed about 20,000 miles, the "Check Engine" (or, as the dealer prefers to call it, the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on every 50 to 100 miles. Sometimes it resets itself; sometimes it stays on for days. Has anyone else had this happen and been able to fix it? The dealer says it is not fixable - it is a comuter chip programming error.
The dealer reports that the code is P2263 for turbo under boost. Freeze frame data shows codes set at idle when no boost should be present.
The light usually goes off after an oil change but comes on again after about 50 miles.
Your service manager is full of it. That is not normal and they should fix it. I would also go to another dealer and fill out one of the customer satisfaction forms and send it to Ford.
MAP hose, MAP sensor, CAC system leaks, Intake leaks, EP sensor, exhaust restriction, exhaust leaks.
if the rest of what the dealer is true about the turbo showing boost when none should be present, I would look at the MAP sensor out of calibration(bad) and/or something in the VGT vane control.

Reason: remove code
