I have an 84 f150 with a 351 winsor. if it is in park and i hit the brake it idles up about 100 rpm. i was wondering if it is sposed to do that

There have been a number of similar posts on this subject lately..... more than likely, you have a vacuum leak around the brake booster. When you are stepping on the brake pedal, it is somehow reducing or sealing off the leak, causing idle speed to increase.

when the engine isnt running and you hit the brakes you can hear air it sounds like comeing from the brake booster
