Cold Bronco
I've got a 90 with a rebuilt 302. During this time of year, winter, the heater doesn't blow very hot air. I've been in cars and trucks where you can't even put your hand infront of the vent because you will get burnt, but mine you can hold your hand there all day and still have cold hands. The temp. is usually between the N and the O on the normal gauge, except on interstate where it runs about on the N. There is no smell of coolant and there are strange sounds comming from the heater core. I have'nt checked the fluid level in a while but if the fluid is too low then the truck would have a tendecy to run hot, right? I would like to figure this problem out tonight yet because I have a two hour drive home after work tonight. Thanks in advance for the help.

Check the coolant level. Hold your hands on the heater hoses and determine if they are both hot. You may need to flush your heater core. It may be that the plenum door is sticking and not permitting air flow through the heater core to reach you. There are several possibiliteis, check them one at a time.

my 94 was the same way, I changed the thermostat still no heat, I found out my heater core was clogged up now my heater will run you out of the truck in a few minutes. if you disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall you should be able to take a water hose and spray water in one side of the heater core and it come out the other side with very little to no back pressure with my old core you would only get a trickle out the return line. If your core is bad it's one of the easiest jobs you will do on your Bronco, it should take no longer than an hour.
