No it is not the best system but it can be ordered and no other system can be.
In marginal slippery conditions it always puts power to two wheels instead of one and at a stop light up hill in the rain it makes a dramatic difference to me.
With an open diff you will never have more than one wheels worth of power guarenteed!
If you have the dollars to do it then the electric, air, or mechanical actuated locking differentials are much better but all cost mucho dinero!
