Sorry I have a stupid question and feel like a dork but. I have not owned a stick shift in 20yrs(WOW) and never a Ford (but I love it) til now. I looked all over where's the dipstick for the transmition on my 92 F250 7.3 5spd. And what type of fluid would you recommend.
found this one out the hard way myself, it has no trans. dipstick. check the fluid level at the fill plug on the side the trans. about half way up it on the drivers side. well... this is where it was on my 89 f350 7.3 5sp. hope this helps.
Do u just unscrew the nut? Is there something on the other side to check the level and where do you put trans fluid in at? Does type does everyone recommend?
If you check the schematic you would see the fill hole above the drain hole, just fill it until it runs out then put the plug in. Synthetic Mercon ATF is recommended due to excellent cold temp lubrication and superior heat disipation.
