I had just bought my 85 truck and the guy who owned it before me put in power bucket seats out of something Idont know what. But he also took out the seat belts....and left them out! And the floor pan, door sills, rocker panels, under the windshield, and behind the kick panels are almost gone due to rust. Oh and where the lower seat belt mount is rusted to.My questions are has anyone put seat belts in there truck, and how hard is it? And best way to deal with the rust.
I would get some from a junk yard. You are very limited when it comes to replacement version. As for the rust, they don't call it "cancer" for nothing. If you don't cut it out it will continue to spread and "kill" your truck. For a fast fix to get you seat belts in, put a wide fender washer on the outside. It will spread the pressure over a bigger area and not pull through the rust. But the only real solution is to cut it out and weld in new panels. You can order replacement pieces pretty cheap through JCWhitney or LMCTRUCK.com.
