a few weekends ago i was heading up north for some snomobileing when my truck started making a weird sound. I would best describe it as a rubbing sound. It started out just a quick on-off, then alittle longer, longer the longest was what seemed forever but was maby 30sec. I pulled over looked around, saw nothing obveious decided to go back home. With the pass. window I could hear a poping/engaging sound when the noise started. pulled over again locked the hubs and no noise the rest of the way. Havent drivin' it much since but when i did (hubs free) the noise wasent as constant. only happened 2 times.

As Highho said hubs may need lubed.
Also raise your truck up and chk front wheel bearings.
Take a look behind the knuckle area and see if the seal that rides up against the hub and bearing assm.is still in place.
this seal if bad will alow the dirt and water into the bearings and hub ,not good.
