I posted a question earlier about fuel pump problems on my '85 ford f250. I received replies about the relay. I am curious, is there a relay in a carbed 460 ? or is it just for the efi's?

my problem is the pump will run with the ignition off but it won't run when it's supposed to.

Do you have a carbed 460 with an electric fuel pump? Was this a conversion with the high pressure fuel pump still in the tank?

it is a carbed 460 with a pump in each tank. As far as i know it's stock. No other pump in system except for the after market inline i put in temporarily. The truck is a 1985 F-250 XLT LARIAT.

***IF*** those pumps are originally for EFI and you have a carb on that engine ......Run ......... to a speed shop and get a fuel pressure regulator and set it for 7-9 lbs instead of the 40-45psi those pumps are running at.
