Overdrive Lockout

OK guys, I have searched and cannot find any info on this and with as many pages of topics I have seen and with even more I just don't have time to seach through, anyone know if you can get the E4OD 95 model to where the OD stays on or off which ever position you have it in when you cut the truck off and then re-start its where you left the switch for the OD? I sure would like some help finding older posting about this or if someone knows how or even if you can do this with no ill affects, I would sure like to know if not to much trouble.
Thanks for any trouble

You need to write new software for the PCM to do this. Not an easy job at all!

Well, that is not good. I have a 05 Expedition and my 95 PSD that I sure wish it just stayed where I left the tranny for as the OD position of on or off. Thanks for the reply...

Just the other day I talked to the tranny shop about the same topic. They told me that it is programmed to reset after the key is turned off and there is no way to change it. I wanted my work truck to turn OFF the OD everytime it is restarted but it can't be done, so I'm told.

That would be a real good thing for some of us if we could change this. I would just like mine to stay in whatever position it is when I cut the motor off. That way if out on the road and need the OD its on or if around town or towing and I have it off, the truck just starts up like it was when I cut the motor off...

What has really got my attention for this has been the wife and her new 05 Expedition. That thing gets terrible fuel milage around town. I have told her if she would run it out of overdrive she would get way better. She even knows she would too, she doesn't think about it actually and does what women do best with a vehicle, get in shut the door, crank it and put the thing in gear and go LOL...Bless her baby heart, got to love her though, as she puts up with the Rowdyone and has for over 16 years now LOL...

I am going to noise around somemore on this and see what I can come up with, but it doesn't sound good

OK, I just had a feeling someone made something like this. Just finding them first is the challenge, now paying for this will be the next thing. Going to have to have one though I think.

This place has a box that has three wires that mount under the dash that was said to be easy to hook up. The box is a OD reversal unit. So basically when you first turn the key off and back on each time the trucks default position is with the OD off.

Was not eactly what I was wanting, but is better than what I got with how Ford has the OD on each time. Just thought I would share the info for those like me that would like this different than they come from the factory. I hope its cool for me to post the info on this place. If not cool I will delete this or the powers to be can delete the info. Hopefully I want need the flame suit YIKES...

Well guys, Intermotive is gone I guess. I was going to order two of these boxes they build and the number I listed belongs to a dinner now.

So now I have Service manager calling Ford to see if I can do this someway cheap. I will keep everyone interested posted in this...
