I have a 2003 F250 SD currently with a fabtech 5.5 lift and American Racing Mojave 20*10(Black teflon coated) wrapped with Toyo 35" MT's, would post a pick but cant yet...
I am interested in converting my truck to the front coil over system... I found the kit with rear springs for just over 2 grand so the price is ok for me, but was wondering if anyone has any experiences with it good or bad....
*Bump* I'm hoping someone has experience with this lift, since I'm equally curious about how it performs. Unfortunately the only people I know that have gone from leafs to coil on their SD's have done it the expensive way. . . by trading their current truck in for an '05.

I ended up speaking with a shop that has installed a few of these kits.. He spoke very highly of them.. Said the ride quality at the front end is great.. the rear is obviously the same....
the spring kits are about 2500 shipped to your door complete.. thats the best price I have found so far.... I think I would add the traction bars as well as the adjustable trackbar...
The guy said it takes them around 7hrs to install it... that seems a little long considering you only need to drill a total of four holes per front side... I am planning on installing this kit myself....

Seven hours doesn't sound too bad to me. Remember that this kit is more involved than your normal leaf spring lift kit, more than just the 4 holes you speak of too. You have to connect the multiple links, new shock tower, etc... things you wouldn't have to mess with on a typical kit. Unless you have a really nice shop with a truck lift etc, you may want to plan for a whole day from start to finish.
New Jersey? What state is that in? I'm just kidding, I live way down in New Mexas, I mean El Paso. When you live here you get confused as to whether you live in New Mexico or Texas. I have to agree with 02superstroker on the 7 hour time frame, it seems a bit ambitious. Donahoe Racing gave an estimate for the DIY people of 7 hours for the 4.5" kit, but I showed them . . . I took 12 hours to do it and I'm no stranger to installing lifts. You might want to talk to the folks in the New Jersey Chapter of FTE and see who you can sucker, uh! I mean convince to help you out.

good luck.
according to the directions its four holes per side as I stated.. 8 total... other than that its all bolting(time consuming I agree but easy)... I agree there is a lot of bolting of all the links.... while they stated 7 hrs and they are professionals, i was planning on at least a whole day for me, maybe 2...........
but regardless of the directions which isnt my concern, I am hoping someone can add some positive feedback on the actual performance of the kit .... everything I have heard so far has been from a company who sells the product. so I would only expect to hear good things from them....
Rokf250- I can't seem to find anyone that has actually installed, or had one of these lifts installed. It looks like you may be the only one on the board who's even considered it. Congrats! I would have thought someone on this board would have tried it, or at least known someone who's tried it.
There are people on other boards who have installed them. From what I've read if you have a CC 7.3 with the 4R100 the brackets will bolt up fine......the people with gassers and one guy with a Excursion with the PSD all had to modify the brackets to fit with their trans. crossmember. I also read of more issues in handling with the 6" version vs. the 8".
If I was going to do coilovers and wanted a "kit" it would be the One Up Offroad setup, but the smallest they have is a 10" lift......otherwise I'd have it custom done with coilovers front and rear.

on skyjacker's website a guy posted his truck with the Coil kit 6". he seemed to be extremely happy.. Its a 01 or 02 white Superduty...
I want to look into DC comments about the performance issues.... Do you think 35's would look dumb with an 8" lift? I just bought brand new 35's

Thats kind of a personal issue. Some like their wheelwell's completely full, other's like some clearance. You have 35's now so you'll know whether or not they look good when you get the lift. You can always change if you don't like it. Also try browsing the galleries I'm sure someone's got a lift/tire combo you'll like. I'm sure you have already considered making sure that what ever size tire you go with it won't have issues with rubbing when your suspensions articulated.
on f0rd truck w0rld i found a thread .... Seems like the crowd is not taking a liking to the Coil conversion kit... Seems like the way the link bolts up when the springs compress it causes the axle to roll back and down changing the pinion angle....
That is one bad looking truck, I love the blackout look. No experience with the kit but I did read about the installation in one of the offroad rags. The only thing I don't like is the pathetic amount of up travel this system gets ya, if I remember correctly it's only like 2 inches. If this is a street only rig it would probably be a good upgrade, do you do any offroading???
