Checking for spark-no shock way
I troubleshot my 1982 f 150 4b4.It would lose spark.It would run smooth then die just like the key was turned.I knew when I bought it it had been modified.,So I had to check for spark many times and when you do that you may get zapped sometimes.So I took a hunk of thin gauge metal and drilled to holes in it one at one side,and one one the other.Bent it to fit on a bolt near a/c.Then the other side I made a spark plug to fit tightly in it.Now I can put a spark plug wire on it to check for spark....I found the wiring harness to distribter had push ons elect. connections on it that were in bad shape.Someone converted duraspark? to duraspark?I went to bone yard and got the wiring from the dist. to brainbox and the thing has not died since.I just plan to leave the spark tester on engine.
