Just to settle a bet with a friend
Did ford ever produce a c6 trannie that botled up to a small block? I say no but my bud says in the 60,s and 70,s. Anyone out there that was alive in this time and could tell me HES WRONG.

1970 mustang coupe 351w 12 sec. car in my garage if everything goes well.
I had a C6 from the factory that was behind my 300 I6 and it is the same tranny that I now have behind my 351W. The C6 was used in the early '80s behind small blocks and big blocks until the OD trannies started showing up. I'm not sure what Ford had in the 70's, but in the early 60's they had the cruise-o-matics and it was very rare to find a pickup truck in the 60's with an automatic. I remeber my neighbor getting an auto in his new Ford in the early 70's.
They were bolted to small blocks all the way up to 1989 I think. SOmeone correct me if I'm wrong. I have an '85 F-150 with the I-6 300ci and the C-6 is bolted behind it.
