Since these seem to be a weak point, and Ford has realized it, I would want to get the latest production from Ford in hopes that they have improved them. It's too much work to change them to risk old or possibly substandard parts or rely on a warranty. Also, be sure to use dielectric grease around the terminals.
Hey MrBSS. Are you saying that these COPS for sale are New Old Stock? It says they are made by Motorcraft. Are these no longer being made and used by Ford dealerships when they change a COP? If Motorcraft has upgraded them, do you know the part number by any chance? I'd be using them on a 98 Expy 5.4. Thanks.
I just purchased for a V-10 6.8 two days ago, two new Motorcraft COP coils from a Motorcraft Dealer DG-508 is on the box. I removed F7TU-12A366-AB, notice on the parts listed from the bay that the last letters (CD) are higher on the chain than the ones I removed (AB), the ones listed are a newer version than the ones I removed.
DG-508 retail $121.00 and change each, don't know about the plugs.
