I own a 2002 F-150 super crew. 42,000 iles and the paint is checkering on the hood, all four doors, roof and quarter panels. I have exhausted my options with Frd who will not repairdue to truck being out of warranty. They have aggreed to pay for a portion of the repair work, $2000. Ford has also advised me this was a paint defect from the factory. No recalls have been made per Ford for this defect. I am requesting anyone who can help me find out a way to pay for this. $3500 dollars of damage so far. I believe Ford should pay the whole repair work. Any suggecstion ??????????? I need them or I'm going to have to woork some overtime to keep my Ford looking good.
My friend had a mountaineer about 3 years ago with similar problems. He was persistant and they finally took care of it in total. If you have documentation stating that it was a factory defect- any lawyer should be able to settle this for you. Ford already admitted guilt/responsibility if they stated that it was a defect from factory. A consumer dosen't pay for something to be defective from factory. I certainly would rush that to the lawyer- It was a poor error on their part to admit fault in writing and then say they wouldn't back it. DO not accept any partial payment until you have seen a lawyer, you will be in fact settling your case if you do for that $2,000....
