Using Snow Chains W/awd
Thank you leo
So guessing, if you can afford it chain all 4. If you can only afford one set chain the rears.
I chained all 4 on my old FWD taurus and it worked great but was a PITA to do all 4.
Some stores will give you an end of season refund. If you don't use the chains return them for a refund no questions asked. Be sure to check before you buy them.
I think in the NW, Schucks and maybe Schwabs had that policy. I always figured it was too much PITA to return the chains if there was a chance during the time I owned the vehicle that I would use them.
I like the cable chains for ease of installation and smoother ride. Real chains grip better in ice and packed snow but ride rougher and are a pain to install.
Those "spider chains" if available might be an easy way to go. They look like a big plastic spider that sits on the outside of your wheel and mount to a hub in the center. Snap em on snap em off. I have heard it takes maybe 1 mintue to "chain" the wheels this way.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson
