I initially tried drilling them out but just wasn't ahvign any sucess. I ended up using an air chisel on the rivets..Went really fast actually..they are "relatively" soft. Drilling might work what you might want to do is use a punch to put a divot in the head and that'll get the drill started. I think folks have done all 3..Didn't have a torch so my only 2 opts were drill or air chisel. First time around it took me 3 hours for the left side, but i'm usually pretty slow when i do work just usually not in a hurry. Did the other side in half the time.

dmacfordshot04....you can remove all that, but you'll still have your hands full getting the end of the radius arm out of the frame rail bracket....you'll be best off to cut, grind, torch or whatever, the rivets out and replace them with grade 8 bolts from the hardware store....i will soon be doing exactly that with my passenger side, as i already did the driver side bracket...i don't remember exactly what size the bolts need to be, but i would suggest at least a lock washer on the nut, if not also on the head, and mebbe even a lock-nut, so that you can be sure that the nuts ain't gonna back off the bolt threads...just my pair of pennies...

A 4 1/2 grinder works well. Just grind off the head and punch the rivet through. Of course the rivet won't be the same size as a bolt (use a grade 8). Drill the next size up. Probably 3/8".

I mean it just seems simpler to me to take the rivets out that's why i did it, Unhooking shocks, springs and trying to pull the whole assembly foward with a come a long just doesn't make sense to me. YOu might have to slide it foward an inch just to get clearance for the bracket to get out, b ut that's better than unbolting all that mess. It's one less thing to dissassemble,l and in the future you just have to undo some bolts.i couldn't actually get a grinder IN that space..that's whny i used air chisel..actually one could prob do it witha regular chisel and big hammer..would be time consuming but some good wacks they might go
