OK - I've collected all the parts I need to convert my manual steering to power in my '68 F250 4x4, except the power steering pump bracket for my 390. Anyone know where I can find one? I've scoured the junk yards pretty thoroughly, but can't seem to find one.
Thanks.
You need two brackets, if you are using the later style with 3 sliding studs.
The first one has the 3 slots in it, to allow the studs to slide up and down (to adjust the belt).
The second bracket bolts to the pump itself, and has the 3 studs on it.
There are several PS pump bracket variations, none of which share parts. It is best to get the complete setup from one FE engine. Any car or truck FE will do, as long as you have the complete setup from 1 engine.
I have the brackets from a '69 or '70 F-100 360 on my '66 F-100 352.
I'm glad your power steering conversion is on its way. I can't help you on the pump bracket (wish I could). I'm hoping to embark on the same conversion on my 72 F250 4x4. I've started my homework on what I will need, but I'm still pretty fuzzy on what parts will actually work on the F250 4x4, as apposed to an F100. Would you mind listing the parts you've had to aquire for your swap?
