Does anyone sell built V8s for Fords like Edelbrock does for that other company? How about a bullet proof 300 I6? or anything that will bolt up when I blow up my stock 300? (Not looking too likely, given SERIOUS offroad/mud pit abuse w/ almost 250k on stock 4.9 and still going strong.) I can't help but think that with the tach moving out well past where the red line should be I'll be in need of a new engine someday. I'd love to swap in a carbed 351W V8 (C.H.E.A.P) if I'm only gonna get 9mpg anyway. What do you think?
I wish I could put this old 4.9 under the hood of my Bronco II, but there wouldn't be much left 'cept the frame, and who can afford 8-9mpg from a daily driver?? Why can't I just drive a car like everyone else and be happy????..... It's this whole "drive it like you stole it" philosophy I heard on extreme 4x4 or "Trucks" last week. Stupid TV. Sorry for thinking out loud on your time. RC
Lots of places sell crate motors including Ford Performance Parts. A 400 hp 351 from Ford Performance sells for around $5600 250 HP 302 around $2300 with other combinations in between
