motor identification

I have a 79 bronco that i bought from somebody that didnt know 2 much about it because he received it for a past debt. he mentioned a motor swap but was unclear as to what was swaped in so the question is how do i tell what motor and transmission was put in any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you have haynes manual. i beleive it will show the different valvcovers and the number of bolts and there arangement on the heads to help identify the motor. or posting a pic might help as well
