One of my friends from Ny just told me hes going to be lowering his 96 EB edition and he told me hes going to be able to still go fourwheeling with it but any comments to this odd ordeal I find it very interesting please responde
I think that would be cool, i havent seen a lowered bronco before i would like to see one. how much will he be lowering it? it would probaly cost alot though.
He said it was going for either 2 to 4 inchs lowered I think it would really cool but like 1991fseries said it would be near impossable to four wheel with and I think the hydrolics in it would be such a hassel and possable ruin the chassis in fourwheel but he also said that he going to be paying around 2-3k with everything (lowered new shocks tireshydrolics and struts) but he said in a bout 2 weeks it should be a ready so once he sends a pic ill put it up
Lowering a Bronco is plain & Simply Un-American! He is just asking for problems. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some sweet pick-up's out there dropped, but a Bronco?????
Al
Leave it to a Yankee to ruin a perfectly good Bronco. Lowering kits should be outlawed, especially for trucks. OK, well maybe not for mini trucks. They aren't good for much anyway. LOL.
Most people lift trucks for ground clearance which is something you want when you go off-roading. If he plans to still off-road in a lowered Bronco he is inviting problems.
He can do whatever he wants with his own vehicle, but he cant have his cake and eat it too. Is is possible to lower it and install hydraulics? Yes, and I think it could be done to look pretty decent. He could also wheel it, but even if it was hydraulacly raised to its utmost limit, it still wouldnt exceed (or maybe even meet) stock height. Thats good for mild wheeling at most. Further, seeing as he wants to drop it, he would probably be planning on small low profile tires. These would further limit his wheeling to perhaps the wet grass in his back yard, or the playgrounds sand-box. But hey, if he wants to destroy 2 - 4k running the hydo-lines, then go for it! That'll be an expensive lesson.
Please keep us posted on your buddys Bronco, not everyone wants a Bronco for 4 wheeling. Mine is for suprising the hell out of people at stop lights when they turn green.
I saw one for sale on eBay once, actually it was a drag racing Bronco and it was lowered.
But, it definitely seems to be more trouble than it is worth. And when it's done, what do you have? A unique, but still stupid looking Bronco that rides like cr@p.
