I got a 96 F 150 auto 4r70w tranny. I Replaced the fluid with Mercon V due to a shudder problem ( by the way the shudder is now gone for now) .. I believe it had Mercon III in it. Will this hurt my tranny or should I put Mercron III back in it. I ask this because a guy told me the Mercon V would wreck my tranny due to the clutch material make up in the tranny being different....?????

Ford issued a TSB a few years ago that recommends Mercon V for all 4R70W transmissions.

How sure are you of this? I will change the fluid of my 4R70W soon, and I would like to be sure before buying the fluid.
