53 F250 frame

53 F250 frame

Is there any differnce in a F100 frame and a F250 frame besides wheelbase and suspension

The only info I could find for the 1953 model year is that the #3, #4, #5, and #6 crossmembers are different part numbers for the F-100 and F-250. The frame assembly part number are also different. Whether this means they are actually different parts, I don't know - Ford sometimes used different part numbers for the same parts. The difference could be something like a heavier gage metal used in the F-250, or the parts could actually be different shapes or have different dimensions.

Barry, you know anything about this?

I think the 8 foot bed was not available in the F100 until '56, so the F250's in '53, '54 and '55 were longer. I don't know about the heavyness of the frame material.
