I'm not sure that it will be acceptable by FTE standards... no modifications of any kind to the logo, it may be possible that also means the initials, copyright and trademark laws. May want to consult with the admin before you spend too much time on it.

I like that too Jeff. There is a couple good ideas here. Maybe we could go with more than one. Maybe one on the front of a t-shirt and the other on the back.

Hmm, according the the chapter guidelines we can use the FTE logo, unmodified, with approval. I was thinking about using the text alone, without the truck outlines, keeping it below the Missouri map. I'll have to think about this a bit...

Here's a second try with a more blockish text. I may try one more version with the official FTE logo and my pic beside it (smaller).

Here is the third logo. This one uses the official FTE logo with my little FTE Missouri map alongside. I've done all this in Flash -- if anyone wants to play around with it (and has Macromedia Flash), here is the file.

I can guarantee the second try will not make it past the administration, the third might. My own choice,it's not really what I like, but that's my choice. Where is MoMudder on all this... we need to get this figured out, and do a poll... I would say it is ready for a vote. At least to get a feel for direction here.

logo help...

Hey guys, was just checking out this thread and thought I'd add my two cents since I've already been through this.

The FTE logo must be used and w/o alteration. This means no additions or omission. However, like most rules, you must know when to break them. We (Ohio Chapter) were allowed a small variance on this when it came to the website text at the bottom of the logo. I wanted to increase the font size and make it proportionate to the rest of the logo and Ken approved this concession.

http://www.cafepress.com/OhioFTE (link to the O.C. store w/both logos for an example)

Also, I saw some request for a hi-res FTE logo and Ken has supplied one. You will have no problem making this one work (unless it's TOO big).

Looks like you guys are doing a good job, keep up the work!!

Mind If I chime in ?

No to #'s 1 & 2.

#3 has the FTE logo too large compared to the state outline.
One way for going at it is:
Create the state outline first, then start filling it in with required icons & text.
This will set the sizing for shirts, from there it gets reduced for other articles.

I like the red /white /blue though.Stick with that theme

About all I've managed to get done is the gear swap in my D44. Now I just need a set of gears for my 9" and I'll be ready to pull my SAS. Tranny wise, I haven't been able to be without my truck for a whole day when I'm around my tools, and then when I'm at school pulling a tranny swap in the parking lot isn't the easiest thing. I could pull it off with the help of a couple guys down here, but it's a matter of coordinating a floor jack and two other people. The jack seems to be the hard part.

Summer wise, I'm going to be in St. Louis and working my tail off. I have one car to prep to sell, another I need to buy, have a '53 Beetle I need to start body work on, my truck needs a motor and a solid axle, and I'm going to be working full time. Oughta be enough to keep me busy for a little while. Ya know, just a little.

Justin

If you have access to a welder, I built a lift plate for my floor jack to lift and lower tranny's, all it is is a pin to go where the lift saddle is, and a flat piece of steel sheet. If you sit a little high for that, I took some 4x6 angle and made it extend upwards to get a higher lift, but of course you have to lift it on, can be a challenge, but I have done it. Leave the converter out. I also use one of those cheap ratchet ties to keep it from fallingoff. If you have a manual, I built as before, but built a cradle on top to keep the trans from rolling. The ends are about 1-1/2 high, and then the sides are laid at a bit of an angle, spread about the width of the trans bottom.

Getting access to the jack itself is the hard part. Everyone has bottles and mini floor jacks, no one has a 24" reach floor jack around here. At home I have all the stuff to pull it off no problem.
