Cool tranny question (HELP)

OK, i have posted this in the transmission forum with no responce.......

i have an 01 shortbed stepside with a 4.6 L and a 5 speed tranny......i need to know the transmission code to get a suspension lift.....beleve it or not certain companies don't offer a lift for a 5 speed transmission for reasons unknown to me.....does anyone know what the code is or where to find it.....i looked on the tranny myself and can't find a ID TAG.....is it a E40D, 4R70W.....or is the code another one....

Thanks

I'm quite sure the only manual transmission offered in these trucks is the M5OD, built by Mazda. Is that what you mean when you ask for the code?

I wonder if they're referring to the transmission code found on the vehicle certification label? Go to the driver's door frame and find a label with a large bar code. Below the code you'll find abbreviations for certain vehicle components. Look for one that says "TR". Immediately below it you'll find the code that they're probably looking for.
