timing chain
I have an 85 with a 302fi.I will be changing out the timing gear WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS has anyone every used a Dual idler gear and would it be better in the long run? instead of the standard timing chain set replacment parts
any help??/

Never used one, but it's for racing and overkill to put it on a regular daily driven engine. Most people buy them with the straight gears so their engine will make a whining noise. You can't go wrong with the factory set-up, except don't use the plastic coated top gear. A double roller timing chain set-up would be a nice upgrade.
