Replacing old instrument cluster?
I have 1980 F100, I want replace old instrument cluster with one that has Tach. What is gonna be my major problems, can it be done? Help me before I attempt it!!!!

If your truck has a alternator idiot light, and the one you find has guages with an ammeter, then the charging system will have to be re-wired. Some people have said the required wires for the tach are already in the harness, but I am not sure on this.
I think I would take the original cluster you have now, take it apart and investigate how hard it would be to retro-fit an aftermarket tach in the blank hole you have there now. You should be able to find a tach that you can make fit.
