I am getting ready to buy a 95-97 F-350 powerstroke, I want to get the banks powerpack and than the ATS propane set up. I estimate power will be around 700-730 FT.LBS and around 330HP at the rear wheels. Can the axles, T-Case, and tranny take that much power. If not what beef up parts are neccesary to handle this much power.
Thanks, Stew
I think your power numbers are a little high, the old Banks stuff doesn't make much power, you would be better off piecing together your own kit, maybe use the banks intercooler with a hot chip and a homemade air box, a 3 to 3 1\2 to 4in. down pipe with a 4in. exhaust, etc......
i agree with ya on buiding a kit. thoose numbers are more than you will see. i know someone that got the powerpack on his truck and mine with 5" exaust with tymar downpipe, no IC, open intake, the 10k clamp mod is faster than his truck. what really makes the propane work well is the right chip.
i would put a good 4" exaust, tymar intake and downpipe, the GTS intercooler setup, a twildman chip, shim the fuel pressure regulator. if you wanted to push the 400hp envelope a set of Swamp babies injectors and swamp modified IDM. then the propane is just icing on the cake. search for propane injection on here theres a long long thread that is recent. quadzilla is the resident propane expert. with the cost of the banks system you could put togethor whats above with injectors for less than the banks. the powertrain will hold it, gotta ask someone else about what to do with the auto though if thats what you got. ive got manuals in all my trucks, i just had to go with a higher performance clutch. im pushin 400rwhp with my truck with no propane
