oil limits
I'm running a 1997 PSD and I've got that $ Mobile 5w-40 syn. in there and I was wondering how long you should run that grade in relation to spring and summer temps. I don't drive it alot but I would like to get my $worth out of that stuff. I will say one thing, that stuff does stay clean and my usage is about 0. It's been in there since early jan. Maybe late dec. I've put around 1000 mile on it since. 178000k.

i kind of had the same question, i switched to delo 0w30 syn around the same time you did and in a couple of weeks i am going to switch to 15-40 cause i am going to pull a fifth wheel, but the 0-30 has only 2000km/1250mi on it and i hate to throw it out, the oil isnt even black, it looks as if i changed it yesterday. could i drain it out and save it to use next winter or is that a bad idea?
