EGR Valve and position sensor

Hello all. I the FNG so I apologize for this possiably stupid question. I have a 91 F150 with a 302. The computer was throughing a code so I had it checked out. My EGR valve and EGR position sensor is not working. First: are these hard to replace?, two: where are they located? three: Where can I find some cheap replacements? Four: Is the EGR Valve ad Position sensor interchangeable with one from a Mustang 5.0?

What code are you getting? The valve and sensor may not actually be bad. I've fixed a couple with code 332 - "Insufficient EGR flow" by taking the EGR valve off and cleaning it.

It's actually my GF's car. She took it to the ford Dealership and they told her EGR Valve problem. So will look into it and get back to you.

I am getting code 34 which I beleve is EGR stuck open. Aslo now the truck starts and shuts off, it wont stay running??????

try getting your fingers under the diaphram on the egr valve and manually stroke it, thats what i did with the old ladys car. its probably best to take it off though and clean it.

Remove the EVP Sensor (above EGR valve...3 bolts). Once removed, push down on the EGR valve from the inside to get it unstuck.

Removing it can be a pain. I should know, I've yet to remove mine....
