2005 F150 Pricing
2005 F150 Pricing
Howdy!
I am thinking about getting a brand new F150 in about a month. The company that I work for supposedly has a deal with Ford(we use Ford for our fleet vehicles), and I should be able to get a vehicle at $100 above invoice.
I am looking for a 05 FX4 (V8 and 4X4), SuperCab, w/ trailer tow package preferably. Will I be able to get this with or without the special deal for $30k or under? What price should I expect for this truck? I also plan on giving a $5k cash down. I will have my credit union finance the rest unless the dealer can match the rate or do better (about 3.9% for 60 mos).
Does this 100 above deal have a special plan name? I only know about this because of my company.
This is my first vehicle purchase, so I dont want to get ripped off, and I want to cover my bases. Thanks.

Welcome to FTE, TruckNoob!
As far as I know, there is no Ford "plan" that offers any vehicle at $100 over invoice. As jbone108 said, you can do much better if you buy from Jeff Clark at Van Bortel Ford in Victor, NY (near Rochester). Where are you located?
As far as pricing is concerned, you can get invoice and MSRP prices at FordDirect.com, or third-party sites like Edmunds.com and Cars.com. For some reason, FordDirect only shows invoice prices for certain ZIP codes. My ZIP (20878) is one of them, so I can see invoice prices when I go there.
Anyway, for the truck you're looking for, the total invoice price would be 30,258. This is for an 05 F150 FX4 SuperCab, 6-1/2', with the Trailer Tow package being the only option (all FX4's are 4x4 with the 5.4L V8). If you go with the 5-1/2' box, the invoice price is 30k even. Please note, these prices are from FordDirect, and they can sometimes be off by a few hundred bucks.
One thing you might want to consider: since you're looking for an F150 4x4 with the 5.4L V8 and the Tow Package, if you get an XLT instead, and get a limited-slip differential (it comes standard on FX4 but it's an option on XLT) you would qualify for the Tow & Go discount, which I believe is $1245 MSRP / $1058 invoice. You might save a few bucks that way. Please check with Jeff though, because I'm not sure if the Tow & Go discount is still active.

Update!!
UPDATE!!
Well I did some more finding out and that company "plan" info I had is incorrect and outdated. Talked to a fellow who purchased awhile ago a truck and confirmed that we indeed use the X-Plan.
Any estimate on what the X-plan price for this truck is? Thanks for all the replys so far.

Depends on the other options on the truck, what your regional rebates are- there's a few thousand $$ swing from low to high. Just as a generality, you should be able to come out @ $30K or less on an X plan for a pretty well equipped truck.
