The sensor is located at the front of the engine next to the A/C compressor and in front of the hpop. It's at the end of a tube that originates in the front of the right exhaust manifold. Disconnect the sensor and it should disable the ebpv.

What makes you thing the ebp system is your problem? The ebpv only controls the exhaust, not the fuel. Have you replaced the fuel filter recently and if so have you checked the strainer in the bottom of the fuel bowl? There is a fuel pressure regulator in the bottom of the hpop.

Thanks for your reply but the ebp sensor tells the map sensor how much back presure or boost there is if there is to much the map sensor defuels the engine.and you mentioned a strainer how do you get this out.

You are correct, the EBP sensor is used to detect the exhaust system backpressure, which communicates with the wastegate to control the amount of boost to get optimize the air-to-fuel ratio. The sensor is located on the front side of the HPOP. I wouldn't reccomend removing the sensor, but you can clean it. Pull it, and then blow compressed air down the tube. Soot and other crap can build up in there, since it is tapped into the exhaust manifold, and that can affect your EBP sensor.

Can you be more specific about the problem? There are a number of possible causes for an SES light after you modify the ICP signal. Overboost is the most common. ICP out of range or not controllable codes and the EBV are also causes. Have you pulled the codes to find out what is trigering the SES light?

The easiest way is to have one of the local chain auto parts stores pull them for you, or if you know somwbody with a code scanner or a SCMT or Diablo tuner or something like that. As a last resort the dealer will charge you about $75 to hook up the scanner....and if you have any warranty left it might go away as well. At any rate, you need to get the codes read. No sense throwing money at a problem when you aren't sure of the source.
