1997 F250 light duty 5.4 Brake Light stays on
Brake Light stay on Brake Light swich checks out ok , Both side of brake light swich is hot ,I have to take hot cable off the batter to get the brake lights off

Tough problem you have there. The F250LD is nearly the same as the F150... perhaps a wiring diagram can help you find the problem. I'm sure someone in those forums will have one that they will share. Otherwise, you're down to chasing wires to find where the errant voltage is coming from.

I would think that only one side of the switch should be hot unless the switch is being activated. Not sure how it checks out if both sides are hot. If both sides are hot, the brake lights are going to stay on. Replace the switch.
