Exclamation shock mount stud on radius arm

I managed to snap the shock stud on the passenger side radius arm.
while replacing the shocks up front. the drivers side was a breez then the dang stud broke on the passenger side. So can i just beat the old one out and insert new or do i have to go find a new used radius arm from a junk yard.

You can use a high grade bolt or get an older style mount at a junkyard.

That happened to me while I was getting my front end aligned and shocks installed at Sears. The radius arm costs less than $50 from the dealership, which they bought and replaced. After the big runaround that I had installed the shocks last and had crossthreaded the nut. Ive only owned my 94 for 3yrs and if the shocks were replaced it wasnt by me. Point is that a power tool taking off a nut wont give the mechanic any sense of the nut getting stuck. The manager wanted to kick my butt...over this claiming in all the 1000's of shock replacement this had never happened, which didnt matter...I told him it happened and its the mechanics fault and he will replace it. They aligned the truck prior to replacing the raidus arm and the manager said they didnt have to re-align the truck which I dont know if that is right or wrong. The truck still pulls slightly less to the right just as before and the steering wheel is not centered but pointed at the 1 oclock position. Sorry for the long winded answer. It was a crazy situation for me.

Yes, the truck does need to be realigned if ANY of the suspension components are replaced. If it hasn't been that long take it back in and demand that it be realigned. It isn't like they are performing some kind of brain surgery!

so if i just replaced the shocks nothing else i need it to get aligned?
o yea dad took a look at it and laughed he did the same thing on his 70 f100
so we ground it down flat and driled a 5/8 hole and used a 5/8 bolt and few washers and a lock nut.

No alignment needed when you do shocks. Make sure you used a high quality bolt.
