6.0's turbo component
I am looking at purchasing an 05 6.0 4x4 crewcab shortbed this month. A friend stated that the 05 turbo component on the diesel engine is problematic and common to major repairs and replacement. What is the common experience from those of you who own this truck? Is there a website that discusses this item in more detail?

The 6.0's turbo has been and I think still is for the 05, a Garret turbo. It is of a EVGT variable geometry turbo. It gives better low end and high end performance. Mine has worked just fine. There have been some problems but I would not classify it problematic. Garrett has been making turbos for a long time, mostly in the aircraft industry. They have to be durable in that business.
