85mph??

These older trucks don't have onboard computers or governors. Depending on what you have under the hood and how well you build it, 85 mph won't be something to sweat over!

I can prove it to you that they don't have speed limiters/governers, I've my 83 up to 125mph and I still 4th gear to go and about 1000rpm till redline in 3rd.(someone change the rearend to a 2.20:1)

85mph??

I here what your are saying my 84's only goes up to 140km/h and I ahve been there many times, I have never thought about testing it with another cars speedo, good thinking except where to do it with no Cops. Are there aftermarket speedos that would go higher?

85mph??

You could check out www.autometer.com you could pick up one of those cool 200mph units. That will really make that truck fly. Just remember you are trying to push the side of a barn through the air.
