check engine light

my check engine light flashes every time i reach the speed of 55 or faster, whats the cause of this? my truck is a 1988 f150 xlt lariat 4x4 v8 fuel injected

My check engine light flashed on and off right after the crankshaft position sensor went out. It did it also when my alternator went out. I have a 97 with a 4.6. Not sure if this will help you out, but it could .Gather your codes and go from there.
