VIN decoding help
I have looked at this site and found other sites that were mentioned to decode VIN numbers but they haven't worked for me yet. 
So I thought I'd ask here....Anyways, I am looking at a 1986 or so Ford Bronco and I got to what as close to a VIN number that I could read. It is 1FMDU5Y80FA737280 I'm not sure if the "F" is a L or 1. I know that the 10th character is for the year anyway but I need help with the axle, trans, engine identification. That is what I could make out of the VIN number. If anyone can help me at decoding this I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

www.carfax.com will tell you what you need. I ran what you have and it says it's not a valid VIN.

If "Y" is your 8th character you have a 4.9 Inline 6 cylinder engine. The VIN in your post is a little off. The 300 (4.9l) I6 is the only 6 cylinder option I know of. There should be a data sticker on the door jamb to indicate your transmission and axle. If you will get these codes and post them, someone will give you the answer.
