Heater problems

I have a '99 F250 LD. Suddenly the temperature control **** for the heater is goofy... it doesn't seem to be changing anything and I have almost no control over temp... Anyone had to deal with this? It still feels like it is operating something but doesn't feel right at the same time.

I have a F150 1999 and the control **** for temperature does the same thing. If you you pull off the **** there wil be a small crack on the part that slides over the switch, which causes it to slip. My understanding is that this is a "normal" thing for this year. Take a look and see hopefully it is just the ****.

You were exactly right. I had looked at the **** before but there must not have been enough light to see the fine crack. Thanks!!!!

This is why I love this forum.

I had the same problem with my 98.
I just switched the *** with the one on the "def-heat" *** since it take less force to turn this **** and they worked fine.
